Celebrate SABR Day in Cooperstown

— Baseball Fans Around the Globe to Join in Salute to Baseball Jan. 29

(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Some of baseball’s most passionate fans are coming to the village where the passion for baseball reigns year-round.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will welcome members of The Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) to Cooperstown on Jan. 29 as part of SABR Day. With more than 30 events across North America and Europe planned for the same day, SABR Day is a chance for fans to celebrate all things baseball just weeks before pitchers and catchers report. All Hall of Fame members are invited to attend SABR Day events in their area. A complete list of events is available at

SABR’s chapter in Cooperstown, the Cliff Kachline Chapter, will host the gathering at the Hall of Fame beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Jan. 29. Among the planned activities will be an interactive videoconference with members of the San Francisco chapter, who will be meeting at AT&T Park.

The Society for American Baseball Research is an international, member-driven nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball. SABR has nearly 7,000 members world-wide and was formed in August of 1971 in Cooperstown.
