February 2, 2011

The 45th Cooperstown Winter Carnival, made possible by the Cooperstown Lions Club, promises to be a fun filled event for residents & visitors. Outdoor and indoor venues offer fun galore for all participants. Among the more traditional events is the Pancake Breakfast hosted by Lions Club members with assistance from Leo Club members ages 12 – 18.
On Saturday & Sunday, February 12 and 13 at the Cooperstown Veterans Club on Main Street, pancakes and all the trimmings will be the fare of the morning. Patrons will have their choice of plain or with blueberries or chocolate chips and new this year, whole wheat. These will be accompanied with sausage, apple sauce and beverage choice, all served from 8 – 11:30 am, according to Brian Wrubleski, Chair of the event.

The Lions Club meets the first and third Wednesdays, September through June, 6:30 pm at the Tunnicliff Inn. The Club is a catalyst for community betterment in the greater Cooperstown community and all proceeds from their events support their various service initiatives. The mission of Lions Clubs International is To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.
