It’s a Family Affair at the Library during February Break!

CANAJOHARIE, NY- This February Winter break the Canajoharie Library & Arkell Museum is the place to be for free & fun educational programs. Children and teens can enjoy a variety of programs from movies to Legos.

Now through March 28, 2011 view the Canajoharie Central School Student Art Show in our three regional artist’s galleries. This wonderful show is a mixture of all grade levels and features paintings, prints, photographs, drawings, and sculpture.

Teens, come hang out in our brand new Teen Corner! This space is for teens only and features comfy chairs, games to play with friends, books, magazines, comics, and even audio books for rent. Join friends in a space all your own this February Break.

“The Ugly Truth” is that we’re throwing a Diary of a Wimpy Kid party on February 22 at 2:00pm! If you’re a fan of the books then join us for games, trivia, prizes, and a wimpy craft. Plus borrow some books that are just as funny as Wimpy Kid. A program you don’t want to miss (even if you do have "the Cheese Touch!") This program is best for grades 4th and up, call 518-673-2314 to register because space is limited! The books are also available at the library so you still have time to read them all before the party.

Our last Lego program was a such a huge hit we’re doing it again! Join us in the Great Hall on February 24, 2:00pm while we let our imaginations run wild with nothing but boxes of Legos. Work solo or with other kids on a large project. This program is ideal for all ages. When we are done we will photograph your creation and put it up on the library’s website.

Bring the whole family to watch the recent hit movie Alpha and Omega on February 25 at 1:00pm. In this animated feature puppy love takes on a new meaning in this animated film featuring a slew of celebrity voices. Kate is a dominant and driven female wolf, while hairy Humphrey lives for the moment. But when the two young wolves are captured by park rangers and are taken far away, they bond despite their differences. All ages, free, plus refreshments and popcorn.

More information can be found by calling the Canajoharie Library & Arkell Museum at 518-673-2314 or go online to www.canajoharielibrary.org.
