“An Artistic Discovery” is a high school art competition held within the 24th Congressional District by county. Stop in and see this exciting and fresh exhibit of work by the young aspiring artists of Otsego County.

Melissa Yao’s exhibit, “Expressions of Color” is all about color and nature, the most predominant subject being dogs. Beautifully rendered in watercolor on aquaboard her subjects come alive in their individuality and quirkiness, sharing a unique view point. Melissa’s connection with man’s best friend goes beyond words and their unconditional love, loyalty and courage inspire her every day. Melissa states, “It is in the reflections of their eyes and their cold wet noses that I find motivation and inspiration to do what I do. My goal is to bring them into a new light and to increase appreciation, love and respect for dogs. Their cause is my own and I hope to bring change and inspiration one brush stroke at a time.”

Our ongoing sales gallery also re-opens on March 4th featuring a large variety of original work by local and regional member artists. Jewelry, ceramics, fiber and more delight the eyes and make the perfect gift for an anniversary, wedding or retirement.
