Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series Announced

Reserve the dates now for the 6th Annual Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series 2011. Family entertainment at its finest will be offered every Tuesday during July & August,

7 pm at Lakefront Park according to Rich McCaffery, Coordinator of the series on behalf of the Village of Cooperstown Parks Board. Join the excitement and bring a picnic supper for a super evening of top notch music and relaxation.

The complete line up is as follows:

July 5: Compass – new this season

Born in the early 70’s in Oneonta, NY, this jazz quartet, now after 40 years, is doing it all over again. They’re back on the road and are “jazz in every direction!”

July 12: Cooperstown Community Band

This group of volunteers, under the direction of Julie Solomon, has been entertaining since the Civil War with patriotic marches, Broadway show tunes, and other favorites. Let’s celebrate their 150th year!

July 19: My New Obsession – new this season

Performing an eclectic repertoire that mixes classic rock with modern selections, this Norwich, NYbased band, keeps every crowd dancing and singing.

July 26: The Dependants – new this season

A three piece band of teenagers from Fort Plain is characterized by sweeping vocals, powerful guitar and classic rhythms.

August 2: Second Time Around – new this season

Enjoy songs made popular during the “big band” era to the present by this lively group from St. Johnsville, NY.

August 9: Cooperstown Community Band

Let’s continue celebrating the bands 150th anniversary with more of their patriotic marches, Broadway show tunes, and other favorites.

August 16: Fritz Scherz from Fritz’s Polka Band – new this season

Fritz Scherz hails from Verona NY and is bandleader of the Jagermeister-sponsored, Fritz’s Polka Band. He sings and performs a mix of tunes on his accordion.

August 23: Bourbon & Branch – new this season

If you enjoy a mix of rock, country, folk, and blues, this well-known group of local roots musicians will dazzle and delight.

August 30: The Tweedlers

Straight from the New York City area, this acoustic trio enthralls with an old waltz, western swing, classic country, rock and songs of their own. .

The Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series is sponsored by the Village of Cooperstown Parks Board with support from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
