ICE FISHING PROGRAM TOMORROW AT GLIMMERGLASS STATE PARK

ENVIRONMENTAL LAW SOCIETY PRESENTS 2011 ENERGY CONFERENCE

LOU, SUSANNA HAGER TO BE FETED AT OCCA DINNER: On Friday, July 8, the Otsego County Conservation Association will host a dinner honoring Lou and Susanna Hager at The Otesaga Hotel, Cooperstown. This event recognizes the integral role played by the Hagers as co-chairs of OCCA’s successful Otsego Lake Challenge Campaign and as longtime stewards of Otsego Lake. Dinner proceeds will be put toward lake programs in 2012 and beyond. Details are to be announced – for more information, call (607) 547-4488 or e-mail admin.

ICE FISHING PROGRAM TOMORROW AT GLIMMERGLASS STATE PARK: Tuesday, February 22, Friends of Glimmerglass State Park and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will host a winter kids’ day on the ice off the beach, “Get Hooked on Ice Fishing!” This event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fishing gear and bait will be available. Tom Hughes, New York State Parks natural resource steward biologist, will be the host angler. Agenda: free program, lunch provided (you may arrive or leave at any point in the program); free chance to win ice fishing tackle; fish filleting demonstration; and winter lake ecology. ENVIRONMENTAL LAW SOCIETY PRESENTS 2011 ENERGY CONFERENCE: “Gas Drilling, Sustainability & Energy Policy: Searching for Common Ground” will be presented by the Environmental Law Society of Cornell Law School on Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2 at Myron Taylor Hall. This event is co-sponsored by the Graduate & Professional Student Assembly Finance Commission and is open to the graduate and undergraduate community and the general public.
