Celebrate National Wildlife Week at Glimmerglass State Park- March 14-20, 2011

Wildlife That Move Us – Celebrating the Wildlife All Around Us

Walk, Climb, Run and Leap your way into celebrating National Wildlife Week! Join together to celebrate our wildlife friends—the unique ways that they move and how they move us to protect them.

Stop at the Park Office to get information to learn about wildlife species in Glimmerglass State Park. A new poster will be revealed each weekday of National Wildlife Week with trading cards of the nine featured wildlife species of the day so you can learn more about the species, where they live, and how you can identify them.

Monday – Wildlife that Fly
Tuesday – Wildlife that Climb and Dig
Wednesday – Wildlife that Swim
Thursday – Wildlife that Hop and Leap
Friday – Wildlife that Run and Crawl

Held annually since 1938, National Wildlife Week is NWF’s (www.nwf.org) longest-running education program. National Wildlife Week is a signature event of NWF’s Be Out There™ campaign, an initiative to connect families and communities to nature, raise healthier kids, instill a conservation ethic, and inspire a life-long appreciation of wildlife and the environment.
Glimmerglass State Park is a National Wildlife Federation’s Certified Wildlife Habitat.
