Road, Land Use Forum Open to Municipal Officials

COOPERSTOWN – Otsego County Conservation Association Executive Director Erik Miller will moderate a panel discussion/question and answer session at a road and land use forum on Saturday, April 9. “How To Apply Local Controls to Shale Gas Industrialization” is sponsored by the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, Brewery Ommegang and OCCA, and will be held at The Otesaga Resort Hotel from 2-4 p.m. Presentations include: “Why Local Controls Should Be Applied To Regulate Industrialization,” Helen Slottje, attorney; “Land Use Plans To Protect Your Town from the Hazards of Industrialization,” Nan Stolzenburg, land planner; “How Road Use Plans Can Help Your Town Control Truck Traffic on Your Roads,” Mike Wieszchowski, Laberge Group; and “Land Use Ordinances To Prohibit Heavy Industry in Your Town,” Michelle Kennedy, attorney. This forum is open to county and town officials, planning committees, and land use and road use professionals.
