Discover the Auchinbreck Divide in Cherry Valley

Otsego Land Trust is sponsoring a hike at the Cherry Valley landmark known as Auchinbreck

on Sunday, May 22nd, at 2:00 pm. SUNY geologist Dr. Les Hasbargen and Auchinbreck owner

Kent Barwick. will lead the walk which winds across the estate that that was the ancestral home

of the Campbell family, early settlers of Cherry Valley. This site contributes to the Lindesay

Patent Rural Historic District and is protected in partnership with Otsego Land Trust. Views

of the Adirondacks to the north and the Susquehanna Valley to the south can be seen from

the hilltop where the watersheds divide to the Mohawk and Susquehanna valleys. Spring

wildflowers will be identified along the route. The hike begins on Butler Road, on the north side

of the Village of Cherry Valley. Please wear appropriate footwear for possible wet conditions.
