Ensure Your Board’s Peace of Mind…
NYCON’s Directors’ and Officers’ insurance program offers affordable, comprehensive to our Members.
Board Members

Directors’ and Officers’ Liability Insurance is a necessity for any nonprofit protecting the vulnerabilty of the volunteer board member.

The NYCON sponsored policy not only inclues coverage for all diretors, officers and employees, it covers staff, volunteers and committee members as well.

We are pleased to give you two comprehensive, low-cost programs to choose from from Chubb/Executive Risk and Great American Insurance.

Both programs include the following as standard coverage:

  • Duty to Defend. This means the defense costs associated with any claim are covered in addition to the the limit of the policy
  • Employment Related Practices Coverage. This is coverage for wrongful termination, sexual harrassment, discrimination and unfair hiring/firing practice.
  • Entity Coverage. This provides coverage for claims made against the organization (and not just a specific individual).
  • Risk Management Help. All organizations in the NYCON D&O program have access to a toll-free Employment Practices Hotline.

The Great American program also features:

  • First dollar defense
  • Financial information is not required for small nonprofits (small is defined as having less than $500,000 in annual payroll and less than $5 million in assets.)
  • Financing options are available
