NYPMIFA, the New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, recently adopted by the NYS legislature, sets new standards for managing, investing, spending & preserving institutional funds & endowment funds in accordance with donor intent. It further provides modern articulations of the prudence standards for the management & investment of charitable funds & for endowment spending as well as the notifications of donors that is all in effect under the current law and applied retroactively to all NYS Nonprofits.
