The Farm is offering for sale CSA subscriptions for 2011. Weekly vegetable boxes from mid-June to mid-October.At The Farm, members old and new are signing up for our CSA for the 2011 season. It is a really good time for us to have people join… We are still farming at this time of year, but have less income because the crops are done… We are preparing the greenhouse, ordering and starting seeds, watering, transplanting, repairing machinery, etc… The original concept of CSA was started in the early 1980′s as a way to help farmers through the winter as well as supplying consumers with farm fresh vegetables in season.

This year, we are accepting various payment options. Some people are joining with one payment, some are paying over a two or three month period. The price is $425.00 for the season (Running from mid-June through mid-October). We are offering a limited number of shares and expect them to fill quickly. (Don’t worry if you travel, we can reschedule pick-up for another week…)

Boxes will include a variety of vegetables as you have come to know at our market stands. The boxes are a 1/2 bushel and have 7-9 items as they come into season. A typical box in August might include: potatoes, heirloom tomatoes, onions, lettuce, broccoli, carrots, kale, garlic and an herb. The boxes have been good for 2-4 people. We grow our produce using organic practices, are Certified Naturally Grown, have signed the NOFA Farmers Pledge and are Slow Food members. We are fond of growing heirloom and heritage varieties. We grew 75 different heirloom tomatoes last season.

Pickups at, The Farm on Friday nights 5:30-Saturday morning, Clinton Farmers Market on Thursdays 10:00-5:00, Cooperstown Farmers market on Saturdays 8:00-2:00 and Cafe Domenico in Utica on Monday afternoons 5:30-7:30.

Like you, we are mostly buying our produce from the store now; we find ourselves spoiled by the freshness and quality that straight from the field offered…

We hope you can join us this year,
Laura & Michael
