COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (06/07/2011) — The Farmers’ Museum and Fenimore Art Museum will host week-long experiences this summer that offer kids a unique, hands-on way to experience the museums. Specially designed activities allow participants to see, touch, and do something out of the ordinary!

The three programs will run on separate weeks (Monday – Friday) through the end of July. Program sizes are limited. Reservations are required. Down on the Farm – A Weeklong Experience at The Farmers’ Museum

June 27 – July 1 (Monday – Friday) 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Spend a fun-filled week experiencing life on a historic farm! Take care of baby animals, learn to tend a garden, and much more. Ages: 5-7 / Maximum: 15 children. Fee: $175 ($150 NYSHA members)

Week at the Crossroads – A Weeklong Experience at The Farmers’ Museum

July 18 – 22 (Monday – Friday) 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Kids love this unique hands-on experience of farm and village life circa 1845. Delve into the routine of the 19th-century pharmacist, blacksmith, and farmer and learn about heritage breeds of farm animals, medicinal remedies, and blacksmithing techniques. Ages: 9-12 / Maximum: 20 children. Fee: $250 ($200 NYSHA members)

Galleries Galore – A Weeklong Experience at Fenimore Art Museum

July 25 – 29 (Monday – Friday) 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Spend a week exploring the galleries of the Fenimore Art Museum.Discover all types of art, including works from our major summer exhibitions that feature Edward Hopper and Jackson Pollock. You will even create your own masterpiece to take home. Ages: 8-10 / Maximum: 15 children. Fee: $250 ($200 NYSHA members)
