Free Museum Admission for “Dad” this Father’s Day

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (06/13/2011) — In honor of Father’s Day, all fathers and grandfathers will receive free admission to the Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers’ Museum on Sunday, June 19.

Bring your dad to The Farmers’ Museum and talk shop with the blacksmith, enjoy a picnic lunch on the Museum grounds, and find a unique gift in our Museum Store or Todd’s General Store. See the Scottish Pistol made by our team of blacksmiths, learn about your favorite foods—everything from potato chips and buffalo wings to jello and oysters—that got their start in New York State, and visit with the barnyard animals.

At Fenimore Art Museum, relax in our café overlooking Otsego Lake, find a special gift in our Museum Shop, and enjoy our exciting, summer exhibitions. From the Tlinglit Wolf Dagger in The Thaw Collection of American Indian Art to the streamlined Freight Cars in A Window Into Edward Hopper and the visual "pop" of a Jackson Pollock work in Prendergast to Pollock: American Modernism from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute.

Both museums have something for every father to enjoy on their day! Open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information please visit our websites: FenimoreArtMuseum.org or FarmersMuseum.org.
