Cooperstown Farmers' Market

Summer is here with strawberries, peas, tomatoes, early carrots and beets!
This week at the market be sure to check out the tender kale and chard coming in. Also, garlic scapes are here and they are only in for a few weeks. Garlic scapes are flowers which grow at the top of the garlic plant and have a gentle garlic flavor and a satisfying crunch. They are perfect in stir-fries, with salad, or in scape pesto – and they keep well in the fridge for several weeks. Get them while they’re here, and try your hand at making this week’s garlic scape pesto recipe (available at stalls throughout the market). Don’t forget to check out the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market facebook page for more recipes!

The Herb Cupboard, ARK Floral, and The Farm still have fresh herbs for your garden, and cut flowers and perennials to grace your table.

And a special Thank You to all of you who came out to celebrate the Market’s 20th birthday last Saturday. Here’s to 20 more years!
