Hand Prints Summer Art Classes

at the Cooperstown Art Association

for children ages 7-12

Glass Wind Chimes with Wendy Reich

Tues. & Thurs. S July 19 & 21 S 1 – 3pm

Members: $45 S Non-members: $50

In this two-part class students will learn the basics of working with stained glass mosaics. Students will cut, glue & design with stained glass tiles and copper wire to create a brilliant windchime/suncatcher. Students need to bring personal eye protection (safety glasses).

Mural Painting with Martha Sharer

Tues. & Thurs. S July 26 & 28 S 1 – 3pm

Members: $45 S Non-members: $50

The young artists will be guided through the process of creating a mural while learning about design and color. The theme of the mural will be “Summer In the Countryside”.

Leaf Casting with Wendy Reich

Tues. & Thurs. S August 2 & 4 S 1 – 3pm

Members: $45 S Non-members: $50

Students will mold and sculpt cement casts of locally found leaves in this hands-on class! In part two students will clean and paint these hard casts. Participants will need to bring rubber or heavy duty latex gloves.

Fantastical Creatures with Doug Jamieson

Tues. & Thurs. S August 9 & 11 S 1 – 3pm

Members: $45 S Non-members: $50

The instructor will show you step-by-step how to draw your favorite creatures, real or imaginary! Lions, dragons, monsters, unicorns and more!

The Cooperstown Art Association’s classroom space is located on the second floor of 22 Main Street, in the same building as the Village Library and diagonally across the street from the Baseball Hall of Fame.
