Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta, the Annual Benefit Gala for The Farmers’ Museum and NYSHA on July 15th

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (06/30/2011) — The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum will host the 8th annual benefit gala, “Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta,” on Friday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. – a fabulous evening of dining, dancing, live entertainment, with a silent and live auction. A highlight of the Cooperstown summer season, the Gala will take place at the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers’ Museum. The evening’s theme celebrates the Fenimore Art Museum’s feature exhibition Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nicholas Muray.

Over 60 items have been assembled for the Gala’s silent and live auctions. This is a rare opportunity to find unprecedented bargains on offerings such as a week stay in Marathon, Florida the week of November 12th; a great downstate excursion along the Hudson; Broadway tickets to "Jersey Boys;" and six days in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Many more items will be available including works of art by noted artists such as Robert Schneider and Susan Jones Kenyon, an adorable child’s Windsor chair made by John Los, and a stunning carved Blue Heron by Jonathan Dowdall. Visit http://www.fenimoreartmuseum.org for a complete list of auction items. (Bidding is open to the general public on Friday, July 15th at The Farmers’ Museum)

“Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta” is The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers’ Museum’s premier annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting educational programming at both organizations.

Tickets for “Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta” are still available for $175 each. For more information or to purchase tickets, please contact Jessica Kendrick at (607) 547-1433.
