Summer is in full bloom… blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and stone fruit like peaches, plums, and apricots. That means jam making season, blueberry pie season, – it just doesn’t get any better than this. And Shadbush Farm will have plum pies this week.

Now Seth Heller’s Beefsteak TOMATOES are so big, one slice is all you need for a BLT. And for the bacon.. Gaia’s Breath Farm. They also have ham and pancetta as well as a variety of dry-cured sausages. Great for a cold supper plate on the cook’s night off.
CHEESES… Mountain View Dairy has a wide assortment of cows milk cheeses. Camembert is my favorite! Raindance Farm has asiago-style cheese they call Sun Cheese. This is a MUST if you haven’t already had a taste. And Painted Goat has cornered the market on goats milk cheeses with a great selection, as well as yogurt.

For the grill… steaks and chops! All cuts of local pasture-raised beef, veal, pork, lamb and goat. If it’s a new twist on a burger you are after, Highland Farm, raises grass-fed European Red Deer for venison… come by this week to ask Werner and Ingrid about their unique farm.
And NEW at Summers End Orchard… hand-ground MUSTARD made fresh each week.
