(COOPERSTOWN, NY) – Baseball’s grandest weekend is just days away, Cooperstown is ready to welcome the baseball world back home.

Hall of Fame Weekend 2011, including the annual Induction Ceremony, will take place July 22-25. The Induction Ceremony will be held Sunday, July 24, at 1:30 p.m. EDT at the Clark Sports Center, located about a mile from the Museum. The Class of 2011 features BBWAA inductees Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven, in addition to Expansion Era Committee electee Pat Gillick. Admission to the Induction Ceremony is free.

The new Awards Presentation, to be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 at Doubleday Field, will feature the presentation of the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing to Bill Conlin; the presentation of the Buck O’Neil Lifetime Achievement Award to Roland Hemond; and the presentation of the Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting to Dave Van Horne. Saturday’s Awards Presentation will also feature the performance of “Talkin’ Baseball (Willie, Mickey and The Duke)” by Terry Cashman. Admission is free.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on MLB Network, Sirius/XM radio and, the online home of the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. MLB Network, which is available in 56 million homes, will broadcast the Awards Ceremony on tape delay at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, followed by MLB Tonight Live: Hall of Fame edition at 12:30 p.m. and the Induction Ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

Please keep in mind the following details: The ceremony will be outdoors, barring severe weather…The ceremony takes place a short, one-mile walk from the Museum…The Museummaintains the following Hall of Fame Weekend hours: Friday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Monday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.…The ceremony will last two hours…Seating is unlimited and free of charge…Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended for comfortable viewing…Parking will be extremely limited…Recommended areas are the Blue Lot south of Cooperstown on Route 28, the Red Lot on Route 28 at Maple Street, and the Yellow Lot on Route 80 at the Fenimore Art Museum…Trolleys will be available and look for signs as you approach Cooperstown from the south on Route 28, starting in Milford…As always, specifics and more details are available on

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Museum observes summer hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Memorial Day Weekend until the day before Labor Day. From Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend, the Museum observes daily regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $19.50 for adults (13 and over), $12 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $7 for juniors (ages 7-12).
