CAST CHANGE FOR GLIMMERGLASS FESTIVAL ‘MEDEA’

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – The role of Jason in The Glimmerglass Festival’s production of Medea will now be sung by Glimmerglass Young Artist Jeffrey Gwaltney. Jason Collins, who has performed the role since Medea opened July 8, has withdrawn from the production due to an injury.

Gwaltney may be seen as Officer Christopher Snow in the world-premiere production of A Blizzard On Marblehead Neck at Glimmerglass and has recently performed with Washington National Opera, Opera North, Central Piedmont Opera and Lancaster Opera.

Medea features Alexandra Deshorties in the title role and David Pittsinger as King Creon. The production runs through August 16 in The Glimmerglass Festival’s Alice Busch Opera Theater in Cooperstown, New York. Visit www.glimmerglass.org for tickets and information.
