Wolf Kahn Show Opens August 5th

Wolf Kahn The Smithy is thrilled to announce an exciting new exhibit entitled "Rural Landscapes" that features twenty-six stunning acrylic paintings by world-famous artist Wolf Kahn. Opening August 5th at 5 p.m. and curated by Smithy Executive Director, Danielle Newell, the show marks a definitive moment: Kahn is one of the most influential, highly regarded, and widely-known artists to grace the gallery walls since its inception.
Kahn’s work has been described as a blend of Realism and Color Field painting. It has hung in a wide variety of locations, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts.

Other noteworthy local artists featured include oil painter Tracy Helgeson, watercolorist Michael Whaling, and multi-media artist Nancy Samstein. Of course, our Member Artist Gallery is sure to please and will carry the landscape theme as well.

"Rural Landscapes" will be on view with work available for purchase in the gallery from August 5th to September 4th. A reception to celebrate the opening runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on August 5th and will include a cellist, portrait drawing in the courtyard, hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer courtesy of Brewery Ommegang.
