Extraordinary Eggs at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market

C O R N O N T H E C O B, the season has started and we have some of the best. Heller’s Farm has a variety of white corn called Sugar Pearl this week, sweet and tender.

T O M A T O E S are available in every color, size and shape from cherries to beefsteaks, we have a mix of organic, heirloom, and traditionally field-raised varieties. Ah the joys of summer!

B E A N S , B E A N S , B E A N S green ones, yellow ones, purple ones and the popular heirloom variety called Dragon’s Tonge, an organic speckled bean that can be found at The Farm. If it is the Italian Flat Beans you are after, you will find those at Heller’s Farm stall.

All cuts of M E A T and P O U L T R Y organic, certified natural, or field-raised varieties, or free-range. You will find beef, veal, pork, lamb, Red Deer venison, chicken, duck, and hare. Not to be missed at Gaia’s Breath Farm, fresh veal, certified organic, farm processed, all cuts, plus sausages and meatballs. If you are looking for a dinner shortcut – these meatballs are yummy.

H O M E – B A K E D B R E A D. Middlefield Orchard has a number of varieties, my favorite, the wonderful Lemon Rosemary Loaf. Lucky Dog Farm has the chewy, crusty Alligator Bread, mmm. For the authentic stuffed breads, it is the Italian Cookie Home and don’t miss the eggplant parmesan if they have it. Kathleen at Acrospire is baking biscuits, sweet rolls, muffins and those incredible cinnamon pastry horns.

At the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market you can look forward to the quality items local customers have come to expect.
