Boston Comes to Cooperstown & Festival on Performance Today

The next several days are busy at the Festival…on August 9, Performance Today will broadcast "Billie Jean" as performed (and arranged) by the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo at last summer’s Cooperstown Summer Music Festival concert at The Farmers’ Museum. It will be nice to have an audience* of one million plus!

Then, on Wednesday, August 10, at 7:30 pm at The Farmers’ Museum, the Festival presents "Boston Comes to Cooperstown."

Boston-based artists performing are: Keisuke Wakao, assistant principal oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and principal oboe of the Boston Pops; Alexander Velinzon, the BSO’s assistant concertmaster, and violist Marcus Thompson, Artistic Director of the Boston Chamber Music Society.

Joining them are NYC-based cellist Inbal Segev, performing for a fourth time at the Festival, and Festival Artistic Director Linda Chesis.

They will perform:

Bach Inventions

Britten Phantasy Quartet

Mozart Oboe Quartet

Roussel Trio, Op. 40

Dohnanyi Serenade Op. 10 in C major for string trio

And, on August 15 at 7:30 pm, the Festival presents the American String Quartet at the Otesaga Hotel. Internationally recognized as one of the world’s finest quartets, the American String Quartet has spent decades honing the luxurious sound for which it is famous. Below is a video of them performing Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, which they will perform for you on the 15th, along with Haydn’s Quartet in G Major, Op. 77, No. 1 and The Flute Quartet,
