Grand Opening for Howe High Adventure
Dear Friends,
On a Thursday in early August, Howe Caverns had the grand opening celebration for its new Howe High Adventure.
We were happy to have with us NYS Senator Jim Seward, Assemblyman Pete Lopez, Congressman Paul Tonko and a number of officials from Schoharie County who have been so supportive.
The ribbon was cut by owners Pat Galasso and Jerry Wright and then the fun began! The new Zip Line and Ropes Course were open for all takers. A media challenge on the Ropes Course yielded a winner — Kristi Gustafson Barlette from the Albany Times Union.

Brent Ridge of the Fabulous Beekman Boys zips along at the Grand Opening.

And, leading the way on the Zip Line was Brent Ridge of Beekman 1802 in nearby Sharon Springs, better known as one of the Fabulous Beekman Boys on Planet Green television. Not far behind was our former General Manager Harrison Terk.
We thank everyone who took time that day to join us. And, thanks to all of those who have come to experience Howe High Adventure. More photos are posted here.
Coming in September: Our new 250-seat, three-season Party Pavilion.
We can’t wait to see even more people have fun — now above and below the earth.
Enjoy the rest of your summer,
Robert Holt
General Manager

The new faces of 2011
We Welcome 96 New Employees;
Four Receive Service Awards

Since the 1930s, Howe Caverns has recognized its employees for their service. This year was no exception. But, it was the largest gathering in recent memory with 174 people gathered at the Best Western Inn in Cobleskill for the awards.

Recognized for five seasons of service to the Caverns were Tour Guides Gwen Girsdansky, Erika McLaughlin and Ashley Weingarten. Louise Hartman also has been with us for five years as both a Tour Guide and Motel Front Desk Clerk.

Filling out the roster and the room were many of our 96 new employees who serve both the Caverns and Howe High Adventure.

Thank you to all!
