Park Presentation Series: "RSVP: Hospitality at Hyde Hall"
Friends of Glimmerglass State Park to host the final Thursday evening presentation for the summer series on August 25 at 7pm in the Lakeview Room at Glimmerglass State Park .Mitchell Owens, special projects editor of Architectural Digestand a trustee of Hyde Hall, will give a lecture titled “RSVP: Hospitality at Hyde Hall”. From fine French wines to fiery Jamaican hot sauces to roasted venison served on Paris-porcelain plates, the menus of Hyde Hall set a standard for entertaining in upstate New York.The lecture will include refreshments inspired by builder George Clarke’s grocery lists of the 1820’s and 1830’s as well as recipes from The Ladies of Hyde Hall: History, Hospitality, Letters, and Recipes: 1819-1963, written by Anne Hyde Clarke Logan and Karin Lodinsky Nelson.
