Juilliard String Quartet this Sunday at 3 pm

Cooperstown Summer Music Festival Cap off a summer of music this Sunday as the world renowned Juilliard String Quartet performs in the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival finale.

Juilliard String Quartet This concert, which is featured in the current issue of The New Yorker, features

  • Haydn Quartet in G Major, Op. 54, No. 1
  • Donald Martino Quartet No. 5
  • Beethoven Op. 130 with Grosse Fuge

The members of the Juilliard String Quartet are: violinist Joseph Lin, who joined the quartet this year, violinist Ronald Copes (quartet member since 1997), violist Samuel Rhodes (1969), and cellist Joel Krosnick (1974). Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning JSQ became the first classical ensemble to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Members of the JSQ talk about the music they will be performing, as well as a bit of baseball, in this informal interview.
