COOPERSTOWN LIONS CLUB MEETS

The regular meeting of the Cooperstown Lions Club is Wednesday, May 18, 6:30 pm at the Tunnicliff Inn. Jeff Idelson, President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, will be the guest presenter. At its May 4 meeting Lion Claire Kepner narrated a slide presentation on her recent trip to Africa.

The club is busy this month with its first Adopt-A Highway of the season. The roadside clean up is Saturday, May 21, 8 am starting at the intersection on Main & Maple Streets and extending two miles toward Fly Creek. Two events on Sunday May 29 will test the community stamina o of the Lions members. At 8 am, up to 20 Lions will staff the cycling portion of the Cooperstown Triathlon sponsored by ATC Endurance, LLC and starting at the Otesaga Hotel. Later in the day the Club will host canoeists participating in the Annual General Clinton Regatta with a Welcome to Cooperstown Spaghetti Supper.

The mission of Lions Clubs International is To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.
